History

Kallur is an agricultural village situated in south-east of Thrissur district. When we hear the word ‘Kallur’ the image of hills, mountains and rocks will come to our mind. The main jobs of natives were agriculture. All types of community were residing here. The landlords-Janmees hold the most of the farmlands. The farmlands were owned by Devaswam, Mana or Ilam groups.

The employees included all communities also Hindus and Christians. In 1924 missionaries from Thrissur established a church to fulfill the spiritual needs of the natives. After this, the land which is under the proprietorship of church built school in 1926 for educational purposes. They also established schools in Nellankara, Kizhakke kotta and Kuriachira on that period. Mar Abimalek Thimothiyoos who was the foreign missionary was the founder of this school. The meaning of ‘ Vernacular’ is regional language. So the school named as Vernacular Lower Primary School. The first Headmaster of this school was Sri. S.Krishnayyar with alias ‘Pattaru Mash’. Four years later he transferred into Chaldean School, Thrissur. Hence Sri.Nambadan Chakku Chakkapppan, the School manager appointed Sri.T.D.Paul as the Head Master. In this stage of growth the School got a lot of aids from educational department of Government.
